THE ASK
Instacart wants to highlight the new feature that allows you to be verryyyyy specific about your groceries. We were asked to create a play that acts this out with an A-List celeb.
THE IDEA
Nobody belongs in a kitchen with groceries more than Gordon Ramsey. Nobody is pickier than Gordon Ramsey. Bonus point: he’s very funny. This is a play on his very famous “Idiot Sandwich” line.
THE SCRIPT
Gordon Ramsey in a theater. He’s auditioning people dressed as foods. He’s trying to assemble a cast of food that can create his famous idiot sandwich.
OPEN:
GORDON RAMSEY: Can we bring our Bread, Tomato, Chicken and Sauce?
GORDON RAMSEY: What is this HORRID ensemble. No. Wrong.
Tomatoes in a can? Am I a food pantry?
GET OFF MY STAGE. ALL OF YOU.
Five actors in costume shuffle onto stage clumsily. They are all exactly what he asked for, but not what he’s looking for.
The ingredient actors walk off looking sad, while the new, correct ingredients replace them on stage. Cut to Gordon Ramsey making a sandwich at a Super Bowl party with Instacart bags.
GORDON RAMSEY: Now this is a Super Bowl sandwich.
